Scooper Agent

Beta draft, pending legal review

AI Disclosure

Draft dated October 14, 2026. This is our position and recommendation, not legal advice.

Our position

Your customers are texting your business. Scooper Agent helps your team answer them.

  • Every business names its agent. Usually a dog name. Scoop Hero’s is Lady.
  • Replies are not signed automatically today. A setting to sign replies with the agent’s name is planned, not built yet. Until then, anyone on your team can add a sign-off when they edit a draft, for example “Lady, Scoop Hero.”
  • Approve-only means a person reviews each reply before it goes out, until you decide otherwise.
  • Your team keeps the answer to “is this a bot?” honest. The agent does not have a built-in rule for this question yet, so read any draft that answers it before you send. If a customer asks “is this a bot?” or “am I talking to a real person?”, the reply should say an AI assistant helps the business and offer a person on the team. Wording is in number 4 below.
  • A person is always reachable. Any customer who asks for a person gets one.

What we recommend

We recommend telling customers up front, in plain words. It builds trust, it is easy, and some states have rules about bots that talk to consumers. Pick one or more:

1. Sign replies with the agent’s name and role

There is no automatic sign-off yet, so add it when you edit a draft before sending.

Thanks Jane, we’ll skip Friday and see you next week. Rocky, Westside Scoop Co.’s assistant

2. A one-time note the first time the agent texts a customer

Hi, this is Rocky, Westside Scoop Co.’s AI assistant. I help the team answer texts fast. Want a person? Just say so.

3. Wording for your website, signup form, or welcome text

We use an AI assistant to help answer texts quickly. A member of our team reviews replies, and you can ask for a person any time.

4. If a customer asks

I’m Rocky, an AI assistant for Westside Scoop Co. A person on our team reviews what I send. Want me to have someone call or text you?

Things to avoid

  • Do not give the agent a human name and photo that suggest it is a person.
  • Do not tell a customer they are talking to a person when they are not.
  • Do not turn off approvals for sensitive messages (complaints, refunds, injuries, billing disputes). Scooper Agent keeps money decisions with the Owner either way.

Who decides

Your business is the sender, so your business makes the final call on disclosure wording. Laws vary by state and change over time. If you are unsure, ask your own lawyer.
